Runa Rap is a musical and cultural project initiated in 2014 that bridges urban hip hop with the ancestral sounds of the Andes. Their aim is to revitalise Kichwa Otavalo, turning it into a powerful expression of identity and resistance.
Their raw, poetic lyrics address Ecuador’s struggles - dollarisation, forced migration, and the defence of Pachamama - while also radiating hope and pride. This local‑global vision, combined with an electrifying stage presence, has made them a voice of cultural hybridisation and an important reference for Indigenous hip hop in Latin America.
